It's great to know what kind of lunatics they hire at our store. I legitimately have something to complain about this time, I fear. Most of my other complaints are just petty problems that aren't enough for me to actually long to hurt someone, but this has gone too far. I'll post the link here so everyone can see exactly what I'm talking about, and you can form your own opinions:

This link leads to a conversation that took place tonight on Facebook. At the risk of endangering my own job, I feel the need to post it here and take it to a higher level because...well, I'm in awe at the sheer audacity of it. This is a manager, mind you, that I have to see several times a week. A MANAGER, who is supposed to be an example to his underlings, who instead uses his position of authority to try and get in the girls who work at our store's pants and to bully everyone around him. Great choice, guys. Real winner, that one.
For a bit of background information on what caused this confrontation, I'd like to tell you a little story. It starts, in the short version, with me sleeping soundly in my bed with my wonderful girlfriend, after many attempts to fall asleep cut short by nightmares and just general wakefulness. It's 2 a.m., an hour when most people are doing exactly what I was doing: sleeping. My cell phone starts ringing, startling me back into the land of consciousness, which is the last place I want to be. I let it go to voicemail, because I'm half-asleep and pissed off now. Alex listens to my voicemail and informs me that the call at an ungodly hour came from Thomas, the store's night manager, asking me to pick up a shift on the night of the 14th, regardless of the fact that it's 2 a.m., I have to work at 8 a.m., I've been on mornings and afternoons this week, aaand it's my girlfriend's birthday on that day (which I specifically asked for off and was thus granted, because of this event).
Immature though it may have been, I made the status that sparked the conversation in the link, purely out of anger and outrage at things that had happened at work that day and the phone call earlier that morning. True to form, Thomas retaliated and the following argument commenced. Isn't it reassuring to know that this man is in charge of his fellow employees and trusted with the supervision/preparation of your food? I know I, for one, am thoroughly impressed by the depth and maturity of his character.
Let me now point out a few of the other deciding factors for why I'm convinced this man has serious mental issues. One, he claims to not only be a manager at our restaurant (which, undeniably, he is), but he's also a full-time college student (in an actual, physical school; not online), a teacher during the day, AND he's in the army. Is it just me, or does it seem a little impossible for someone do be doing that much all at once, every single day? The only thing I believe is that he's a manager. There's undeniable proof of that, and only that. He may, in fact, go to college occasionally (though I doubt it, because his spelling and grammar are awful and he frequently uses common words in the wrong context), but that's not my biggest issue here. As for him being a teacher---Doesn't that usually require you to have already graduated from college? Hmmm... My biggest issue, however, has to do with him being in the military. Don't get me wrong, I have the utmost respect for our servicemen and women, but only if you've actually been in the military. I have reason to believe he's either blatantly lying or deluding himself into thinking he was actually in the army. My evidence stands thus:
1. He claims to have been stationed in Korea, during a time when there were no military actions taking place there. He further claims to have killed a civilian there for reasons he's not allowed to speak of, though he can't seem to recall the name of the city he was stationed. Don't you think you'd remember something like that? If you killed someone, for any reason, isn't it likely that you'd remember where it happened? I'm pretty sure I would, in any case.
2. He often complains about how much it's costing him to go to college, whereas if he were in the military, they would be paying for his education. (He is also known to claim that he's going to school for free because his mother is a teacher in Dearborn. Decide for yourself which version is accurate, because I can't even begin to tell you whether he even goes to school or not.)
3. He took three days or so off from work under the pretense (to us lowly underlings, anyway) that he had to go to some top-secret military function in Alabama. He complained loudly and frequently about having to take a bus there, so that was assumed to be his mode of transportation. Roughly seven hours after his noted departure time, he texted me saying he was there and all the stuff he was doing. Now, I'm no expert on mathematics, but since I took a bus to Mississippi and the trip was around sixteen hours, I'm sorry if I find it a little hard to believe that he made it to Alabama in just seven. Also, when Alex discussed the supposed trip to Alabama with a fellow coworker, said coworker (another manager) seemed surprised, as he'd been told by Thomas that he was flying to Florida to visit family. I rest my case on this point.
All in all, we've decided that Thomas may or may not suffer from severe delusions as well as the pathological need to lie about anything and everything. He probably lies about what he's eaten for lunch. We believe the military fantasy may have come from his obsession with Call of Duty, deluding him into thinking he's actually a soldier. As angry as he makes me and as much as I detest his very existence, I can't help but feel sorry for him. He's a sick, twisted shell of a man and he needs immediate mental help.
The madness must come to an end.

Complaining, Ranting and Rage
It seems like all I've been doing lately is complaining.
What I have the most to complain about is my job. For lack of a better way to put it, I fucking hate it. As much as I adore some of the people we work with, my hatred of the rest of them far outweighs the pros of being there. Let's begin with the store manager, shall we? If we thought our previous store manager was bad, M. (as I'll refer to her for anonymity's sake) is beyond awful. M. has the tendency to not have any freaking idea what she's doing. When she first transferred to our store, she had to have some else take over schedule-making duties because she just couldn't seem to figure it out herself. She was scheduling people for 12-hour shifts with 4 hours between them and no days off, which is clearly not the way to do schedules, in case you were wondering. Now that she has once again taken "control" of scheduling, she's decided that her lowly underlings should work every shift we have (i.e. mornings, afternoons, nights) all in the same week, while she has the same set schedule every day. If you're unfamiliar with how this might affect someone, let me inform you: it sucks. You don't get any sleep at all, because all three shifts follow drastically different sleeping schedules. This causes you to become short-tempered and irritable, making your performance and people-skills suffer (which is definitely not a good thing in the fast-food industry). As if this weren't bad enough already, M. has now decided that she's had enough of people changing their availability because of her scheduling shenanigans, and has taken away our right to change our availability. Now you not only have to fill out the required forms (as was previously necessary), you also have to have a meeting with M. and our district manager before they'll even consider putting any changes into action. That alone would make me quit if I didn't need this pathetic job so goddamn badly right now. Pitiful and meager though our earnings are, they're managing to keep us (barely) afloat right now, which is all we need. Since ranting about what a fucking idiot M. is has caused me to spiral into a pit of rage, I'll leave off on the rest of what pisses me off about work for now, since the end of that particular rant leads me into another, slightly healthier, one:
With our forthcoming tax returns, Alex and I have been seriously discussing the topic of moving back to Mississippi. Due to our (mostly my, really) stupid naivety when we previously lived there, we thought that we were struggling. We were making very decent money (which I'm not sure I want to post the exactly amount of online, so we'll leave that for you to ponder). Alex was working what hours she could at GameStop (maneuvering around her babysitting schedule) and babysitting an ungodly amount. I was scheduled for 40 hours every week at my wonderful job at Days Inn, though more often than not I usually ended up coming in on one or both of my days off and staying at least half an hour late every night, because my replacement was usually late for one reason or another. As questionably as our hotel may have been run sometimes, it was still nowhere near as fantastically awful as McAnonymous. No one fucked with anyone's hours, people showed up for their shifts (and even when they didn't, they called off ahead of time and there was always someone else more than willing to pick up an extra shift and earn a little extra money), the manager didn't expect you to perform ridiculously demeaning tasks, and overtime was often necessary and welcome.
In short, we had no idea how damn good we had it.
Sooo...We've been thinking about picking up and moving once again. The thought of moving again so soon is less than appealing to us, since we've been moving every 5-6 months for the last year and a half, but with each passing day that we have to suffer through the horrible atrocity that is McAnonymous, our reservations are slowly fading. Mississippi, you look so good right now. Warm weather, little-to-no snow, carefree police, jobs that we love, people that aren't completely fucking retarded, cheaper cost of living, easier access to employment, less filth and disgusting pollution...What did we think was wrong with that state? Why did we move back to this hellhole of desperation and madness? What exactly does Michigan have going for it? Disease, homeless people on every corner, rampant drug addiction wherever you look, an economy that's in shambles, more unemployed people than employed ones, welfare cases like you wouldn't believe, crime and death everywhere... Nothing against her because she's one of the few managers I can stand and I love her to death, but even our restaurant has its share of criminals. A freaking MANAGER, for the gods' sakes, buying electronics with fake $50 bills and returning them for the cash @.@ It absolutely floors me.
Anyway, I think I've taken up enough electronic space for the day, so I'll end my pointless rambling here, after one little disclaimer:
I refer to the hellhole only as "McAnonymous," because THAT PLACE IS SO FUCKING AWFUL, AND THEY KNOW IT, THAT THEY MAKE YOU SIGN A SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY WHEN THEY HIRE YOU STATING THAT YOU WILL NOT ASSOCIATE YOURSELF WITH THEM IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM ON ANY SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES, INCLUDING BUT NOT EXCLUSIVE TO FACEBOOK, MYSPACE, TWITTER, ETC. Yes, they're that fucking terrible and they're well aware of it. Way to cover your asses, McAnonymous. Bravo.

Rediscovered Blogs and Korean Love
Sooo...I've decided that perhaps it's time I start (or revamp, rather) a blog, mostly to prevent further irritation of my Facebook friends. I don't know if I'm actually irritating them, but with all the Korean obsession I've been spewing all over my social networking profile, I imagine that I am. A blog would probably help alleviate some of that. It's a place where I can spout all the nonsense about B.A.P. that I feel like while not feeling bad because all of my readers will be voluntary. I have no idea why anyone might want to read my mind-vomit, but there are a lot of crazy people like me out there and a few of them just might be interested in what I have to say.
It seems as though I have a lot more to talk about lately, though I don't want to subject most of my friends to the torture of me ranting about them, because they mostly have to do with Korean bands and how much I hate my job.
On the subject of Korean bands, B.A.P. is my latest obsession. I'm almost unable to stifle my excitement over those six cute blonde boys. It's with good reason that I tend to fangirl over them, since they are far from being rookies. Brand-new group though they may be, they're undeniably fantastic. Their sound, style, choreography and cohesion make them one of the most impressive bands I've had the pleasure of discovering in a long time. Thanks to Alex and I stumbling upon Bang & Zelo late last year, we eagerly looked forward to B.A.P.'s debut, and we were far from disappointed when the day finally came. B.A.P.'s debut song, Warrior, is definitely not your typical rookie song. Bands tend to stick with something soft, uncomplicated and safe for their debut, trying to earn as wide of a fanbase as possible before going into more stylized stuff. B.A.P. went in exactly the opposite direction. Warrior is fast and hard, with complicated rapping and beautiful vocals, combined wit highly synchronized choreography and deep imagery in their dance and video. It's a song about rebellion, as referred to in the lyrics and the dance, where maknae (youngest member) Zelo controls his hyungs (older members) like a puppet-master with his marionettes, only to have them turn on him at the end of the song and "shoot" him in the head. Bang Yong Guk has some of the best rapping abilities I've ever heard, and his deep, husky voice only adds to the effect. I'm biased toward T.O.P. of Big Bang when it comes to rapping, but Bang now holds a special place in my musical heart as well. (Don't worry, T.O.P., you're amazing and I still adore you!) He also seems to make an incredible leader, gently but firmly guiding his dongsengs (younger members) on the road to stardom. Choi Joon Hong, better known as Zelo, is the lead rapper and dancer in addition to being the group's maknae (youngest member). I'm afraid I'm majorly pedoing on the poor boy, because he's way too damn cute for his own good. I'm also beginning to get attached to Jung Dae Hyun, the group's main vocalist, but I'm afraid I don't know very much about him and the other members of the band: Kim Him Chan (vocalist, rapper and visual), Yoo Young Jae (lead vocalist) and Moon Jong Up (vocalist and main dancer). I'm sure with how much I'm growing to love this band, though, that in time I'll be able to tell you all of their life stories, haha.
Here's the video for you, in case you're interested:

Anime Conventions, Nerdgasms and Cosplay
So, I went to my first anime convention this past weekend, GarasuNoShiCon 2010 in Ohio. For such a small convention, it was a lot of fun.
I went with Alex, she-who-will-remain-anonymous-for-my-integrity's-sake and Sydney. Alex cosplayed as Sailor Uranus, though she was originally supposed to be Sailor Neptune, but pulls she off the blond look way better than I do XD She-who-will-remain-anonymous-for-my-integrity's-sake was Sailor Saturn, to go along with our little group, though she wanted to be Sailor Pluto and got confused. I was Sailor Neptune, though I was originally supposed to be Sailor Uranus but didn't look good as a blond. Sydney went as...Rukia from Bleach, for some reason I'm not quite sure of XD
What I never expected was how many people would want to take our picture. I felt like some sort of celebrity, getting stopped every once in a while so someone could get a photo XD When we got there on the first day, I felt completely silly and ridiculous, but after we started getting a lot of attention, I was able to relax and have fun with it.
We didn't pay much attention to the panels, but of course we went to the Sailor Moon one. The one I really enjoyed was Tie Me Up. Oh my gods, Tie Me Up...It. Was. Amazing. There's no other way to describe it. I was expecting someone to stand at the front of the room and ramble on for an hour about tying people up, but it was nothing like I'd thought it would be. The lady presenting it was absolutely hilarious, she did actual demonstrations of various ties, and her sub was so hot. I'm not afraid to say it XD All I want to know is where she found him and where I can get one. I've had it pointed out to me on numerous occasions that I would make a good dom and now that I think of it, they're probably right. I'm a dom in everything else I do, so why not? LOL
We saw a lot of awesome costumes at the con, but most of the ones that really stood out to me either I didn't know where they came from or they might have just been fun outfits XD One in particular was the guy with the face mask, half shirt, and tail. He was just plain adorable. We were walking behind him and she-who-will-remain-anonymous-for-my-integrity's-sake shrieked, "He's got a tail!" He turned around and was just so damn cute that I wanted to hug him. So I did ^.^; Another was a cosplay recognizable by fans and n00bs alike: Kakashi from Naruto. Two of them, actually. They were absolutely fantastic. She-who-will-remain-anonymous-for-my-integrity's-sake was too afraid to go up to them and ask to take their picture because they were hot XD So Alex and I shoved her over to them, but ended up having to ask them for her anyway. They were great sports about it, though, and even had a routine worked out for photo requests ^-^
The cosplay arena during day two was also a lot of fun. We weren't there for very long, but I got to see Alex, Sydney and a few new friends we made there put on an epic battle (which they won). The guy who called himself the Prince of Zombies was uber adorable, by the way. I like how he glomp-attacked their opponents. Sami and I didn't dress up that day, but Sydney dressed as Rukia again and Alex had put together a cute little lolita outfit. I love lolitas, just for future reference XD If I could, I would be one. All the time, not just for special events.
Anyway, that was a little account of my wonderful weekend of anime convention awesomeness ^.^ I hope everyone that went had as good of a time as I did!

On Writing and Mental Instability
I was thinking today on my writing process, which seems a bit haphazard and causes me to doubt whether I'll ever actually complete anything. My stories come out in bits and pieces, due mainly to the fact that I'm dealing with very temperamental characters who chose to share only what they feel like sharing at any given moment.
This is also why I think I'm slightly mentally unstable, because my characters live in my head and talk to me XD Don't get me wrong, I know they're figments of my imagination and only live outside my head in writing, so I'm not completely crazy. I just wonder if there are any other authors whose characters are quite so...lively.
Belial, whose name was obviously borrowed from biblical resources, is the most vocal of all my characters, so the majority of what I know of him and my other characters is because of him. He's very sarcastic and cynical, so I'm not sure how much of what he says is truth or what can be taken at face value.

On Friends, Birthdays, and Club Attire
Am I the only one who lives right near a lot of their friends and has no idea they're close at hand? I just recently discovered that I live quite close to three of my old friends from Woodhaven. Alicia and Nicole live pretty much on top of me, so I'm not sure how I didn't know that, and Sam lives close enough that I'm surprised I didn't know that either. Sam also happens to be moving in June, which causes me even more frustration because I haven't seen her in years and I want to see her before she leaves, while stupid little me was clueless as to the fact that she lives so close for now. Hopefully this handy bit of information will lead to reunions with people I've sorely missed.
On the subject of birthdays, Stephanie's was yesterday, so a very happy birthday to her. Marcella's is coming up soon and we're going out to celebrate tomorrow, which I'm extremely excited for. I haven't seen her or a lot of my other friends in ages.
Which brings me to my last subject: club attire. We're going to a club for a lovely time of dancing and celebration of the birth of our dear friend, and sad little me has no clue what I should wear. I've never been to what might be considered an actual club before, although I've been to B*Back. But that was just a teen club that we went to in the summer when we wanted to dance on the weekends. So this may be considered my first foray into the adult club scene. I don't think I've ever really thought about clothing this much before, which is truly saying something, seeing as I make clothes and my eventual goal is to be a small-time fashion designer. My sister's advice: jeans and a T-shirt. I was planning on the jeans already; skinny, of course. My new ones from Rue 21. I adore them. Not so sure on the T-shirt score, though. I'm thinking the slinky black top that's also from Rue 21, depending on the weather. If it's as chilly as it seems like it might be, I might opt for the top mumsy got me for Christmas a few years ago. They're both long-sleeved, but the Rue 21 top is made from lighter material. As for a short-sleeved top if weather permits one, I've no idea what to wear. I might go for the see-through black rose-patterned top from Rue 21, with a tank underneath, of course. I haven't worn that one yet. Why does it seem as if all my good clothes are from Rue 21?

The Beginning
Since my dearest hubby said that I should make a blog with her, here it is, after much agonizing over the fact that the interwebz apparently loathe me and don't want me to have a blog. I prevailed! And so, here is the place where I shall post all the nonsense that comes into my warped little mind (when I remember that I have a blog!). Since I'm pretty sure I have no life, there's no doubt that this is going to turn into a place where I let the fictional people that live in my head rant about whatever is bothering them. Ahhh, the joys of pretending you're a writer... Never fear, though! I'm sure when I get bored enough I'll keep you updated about the things going on in my life.
